i am 17, and soon to be 18. and my dad put the money down for this car. I have a job and pay 500-600 bucks a month.

I could have used a bank, but we figured there would be less hassle if he acted as the bank.

I am not spoiled by any means.

And CRX, if you love your car so much go back to hondatech and talk about your single cams and aluminum spoilers.

Don't go on a cobalt site just to bash our cars.

Anyways glad you didn't wreck the car and you are okay. Your dad will get over it. One of his gay friends is likely to tell him to relax and get over it.
did you just quote fast and the furious?

You gave him your word, and you broke the car and your word.

Man up. Take responsibility. Clean up your mess.

Everyone makes mistakes, including me and you and dad. How you deal with it is important.

BTW, I just insured my 15 (soon to be 16) year old son on my Cobalt SS/SC. Yes, I have rules for him as well. The rules are made to help protect him, his passengers, the car, lives and property of others and lastly his wallet. Eventually, you will be on the other side of this issue with your own son. Remember your experience, learn from it and good luck.

Welcome to life! Great days ahead.

BTW, if the worst that happens with my son is a broken axle, I'll be a happy man!

My dad hates cars. Hates racing. Hates mods. Hates loud exhausts. hates everything about them. He bought me the car and I basically lease it from him for 500 a month (includes insurance). He got me the car under a few conditions. 1. No modifications 2. NO RACING whatsoever. Well, so I go without telling him, because he would get pissed I drove hour and a half to get there and hes just kinda gay when it comes to cars. So i am basically illegally at the raceway.

We are watching all the cars and it gets me very pumped. I have never ran at a track, so i decided to pay the 15 bucks and do a couple 1/8 miles.

First run ever way absolutely horrendous ran like a 11.2 just terrible.

Next run did alright and ran a 9.83. Still bad.

Well here come the third run. Get on the line. Do the prestage light goes green and CLUNK. Car is not moving i am WOT in first. First think i think is shitttt clutch slip. Then i see the White smoke come from the engine area. I get out of the car and the guys push it to the parking lot.

Broken axle. The car wont move in gear. Had to call roadside assistance and.......my dad.

Right now it is chillin' at a dealership. and im borrowing my friends CRX.

So yeah, Tonight is the worst night of my life so far, and i will probably never see that car again.
I broke mine 6 weeks to date of owning my car so dont feel bad. I was the first 07 SS/SC to break an axle. Hopefully road side assistance was able to help you quicker than they did me. Took them 4.5 hours to get to me. Mine was slightly different. I got in 3 runs and my 4th was the end of the night. Let it go at 2300 rpms BONE STOCK and it hooked up and snapped. I rolled maybe 10-15 feet. The whit smoke thing however didnt happen to me. I havent been back to the track to run it since. I am ever going to run it again? Yeah, after I get the supporting mods suchs as S2 Axles and ETD's.

I think it is the clutch you were burning up.

I know it's hard to watch but at least it is a SRT-4.

Good luck on the car.
