Finally got into the 13's!!!

First off, big thanks to Spaz for letting me use his slicks! Last night seemed hot and humid and not a great night for racing... But with the help of a few guys pushing me to use them, I gave them a try.

Here are the results:

The first timeslip (car #430) shows by best 60' of 1.990. Unfortunately that run, I missed second gear!!! The next timeslip is with my 13.909 pass!

Nice run man! You knocked me out of 1st for Alberta's quickest in the 1/4 lol j/k

Can't wait to run in a couple weeks and see how the new clutch works.

What are your mods?

i would guess slicks only, if it was @ sea level...
or w/o slicks: stage 2 + 2.9

but i dont know what it takes to run a 13.9 up there.

I had a hell of a time getting into the 13s, and I've only done it once. Most of my runs are 14.04, 14.06 roughly. I only ran once on DRs so far. I've got some issues with the car though. I should be quicker with all the mods I have.

does the cold weather help with the thinner air problem? i would think this same guy could run a 13.5 on a good 45*F night (judging from how my car loves the cold)

yeah but we wont get those until late august/sept
right now its been around 85+ and doesnt cool off because the sun is up till 10pm here

plus the cold air = cold track, tougher launches.

Its a matter of getting that hot day, with a quick cooloff, then we will see some glory runs

oh and you have never felt a cobalt ss/sc pull, until you run it in sub zero temps

oooooo baby i wish it would pull like that in summer!

the DA around the time of your run sidejam was well above 5000. On a better night i would expect to see even better times....

good job man!!

This puts you in second place for quickest cobalt/ion in alberta... Curtis (Firestorm) is in 1st with a 13.857@102 on STREET TIRES....

But like i said ed, great job, and on a better night with better air, you should gain another tenth or two.....

Ed, what was spaz's best time of the night? he needs to post his slips too so i can add him to the list.!!!

^^My times sucked 14.061@96.18mph. not very good I think the cams are out of phase.I never did put a degree wheel on them. Hopefully I can get in the 13's also maybe in a couple weeks with the 2.8" pulley. Boy is it fun launching on the slicks though. My best 60foot time was 2.03 I ll post my slip when I plug the computer into the scaner.

So very very true. 35+ everyday till late in the night and running the AC isn't this cars ideal play point.

Bring on the fall!!!!!!

Congrats on the 13.9!

I think with some very good driving he should be able to better then that.

With just stage 2 and gmpp exhaust and injen intake i was able to run 14.19@104.7 mph on stock tires.

I noticed alot of you guys's mph is lower than i think it should be...

here is a tip, pump your back tires up to 45-50 psi and take out ur spare tire/jack/back seats and ull see that mph go up considerably.....

ill bet on it.

its the heat.
my mph goes up after the sun goes down. but this year has been above average for temps...and it hurts.

during the hot of the afternoon i can trap as low as 98.....
when it drops down to about 18 ambient i am hitting 102-103
if we can get it to cool down to 14 or less for once this damn year the trap speeds should lift considerably.
