2.4 with no muffler

so last night i took offf my muffler to see how much louder it is, see i already have gmpp exhaust, its alright but not that loud, well anyways so i get the thing off and it sounds suprisingly good, i like it, but is there any down falls.... would this be hurting my engine from not getting enough back pressure or anything like that?

it might hurt your wallet when you get tickets for being over 90 Db which is what the gmpp sport exhaust is already at lol. but no i dont think it will hurt performance

acutally i kept the resonator on and its just exiting a 2.5 outlet right behind the driver side wheel. performance acutally didnt really drop, atleast i couldnt tell, and my check engine light isnt on so......

oh i see, kept the resonator thats a good idea lol... i didn't think it would hurt performance though because you're not really changing the length of it. since exhaust exiting into the muffler is going into a much larger volume than a 2.5" pipe it looses almost all its pressure (velocity) anyway so taking off the muffler wouldn't affect performance.

your eardrums... just kidding. i don't think you'd be damaging anything. all the muffler does is reduce sound. The sound waves bounce off the muffler back into themselves to cancel out some of the frequencies.

anyone else can feel free to jump in on this if they have a second opinion.
