While waiting for my wideband to be orderd this week, Flytrap (John) and myself when out and did a few logs scaning my LTFT's and STFT's. I have set up a filter in my histograms to read only the info I need, so when I go into PE, or open loop it does not record that. When we frist started my LTFT's where really out of whack I was getting -10's & -11's. After tuning the MAF low frequency table, I was able to get them down to where they were bouncing around -1 & +1 for my LTFT's.

Well, like the name of the thread says. I tuned them via the MAF. After I figured out how to do it, it is a really simple thing to do.

Shoot me an email and I will send you the config file. But just as an FYI, the filters I have set up to record the MAF high Freq, are not recording :dunno: I am still trying to get those to work. I think that I may have the histo set up to were it requires to many hits per cell.

beware tho, ltft's take a while to relearn, so after a week (or couple hundred miles) you'll need to repeat the process

by then tho, you'll have a wideband and it wont be an issue... good luck!

 

Yeah I plan on doing this again next weekend. I hope my then the car will have learned the Fuel trims. But with some help from others I beleive that I have my histograms set up to filter out all the info I dont need like when going into PE & DFCO. But from the logs that I have taken, it does seem like tuning the MAF high freq is going to be harder since I did not get many hits above 6800 freq.

 

once you get that wideband in, it gets to be incredibly easy.

Just make sure to check the voltage your wideband is giving off. Mine had a small offset, causing me to redo everything. You can't just trust HPT's setup.

For the AEM unit, just hang the sensor in the air to get that reading, dunk it into some gas for a richest reading, and if you disconnect the sensor it'll give you a 14.7 reading. Then compare the voltage with what HPT is getting, and adjust. Takes about a half hour, but worth it.

 

Why would I want to dunk the O2 sensor into gas?
