Exhaust OPTIONS

I am looking into getting an exhaust from GM but I dont want my car to sound like a ricer. I would like to have a deeper sound that isnt obnoxiously loud and didnt know if anyone had sound bites from a 2.4 cobalt with either system on it. Or any good discriptions would be sweet. Thanks

there's an "official exhaust thread" somewhere, use the search. it has all the clips you would ever want to hear.

I've heard both of the GM exhausts, and they don't sound like rice at all. If noise level is a concern, go with the touring. (The Sport isn't too loud though) If budget is a concern, go with the Sport.

If you don't want loud, then don't get my setup. I'm sure it could be even louder with a more aggressive header too......lol.

Got my 3rd exhaust ticket for the 'balt this morning on the way to work........oh joy.

Owell, I like my exhausts big and obnoxious, so the VA State Police better get used to harassing me.

Is the flow gain the same between the touring and sport exhaust systems. I kinda want to get the best bang for the buck. The clip that redfocz posted sounds kinda like what im lookin for maybee a little deeper. The main thing I am lookin for is a clean sound that is as deep as possible withough soundin like a fart can. I am really more up to speed on truck exhaust and have absolutely no real idea about car exhaust.

you can always do What I did. Take it to a local muffler shop ask for a turbo muffler which is the highest flow they have. Gives you a gorgeous deep sound. When I went there I went to order a catback when they told me I already had a 2.5" piping thats when they recomended a turbo back they told me I would get the same if not more hp then a catback I can get so sound clip if yall want just let me know but tomorrow arond 10 will be the earliest

Just to let you know the micrphone on my digi camara sucks. It is deeper in person no farting noices at all once it is warmed up. It is a little farty when it cold, but the same can be said about any exhaust.

I heard the GMPP sport on a 2.4 solstice and it sounded like ASS...but that is MY opinion...I have the touring and it is down right sexy...quiet...smooth...mellow, step on it and she'll talk...

Go for ARK DT-S Exhaust system. ARK just released DT-S after N-II version. Sound clip also available.

Yeah no doubt but the borla exclusive name one sounds alot meaner, but I wont be paying 600 for any exahust soon. The borla made GMPP Performance one sounds simaliar but not as loud, but for 300 installed I wont complain.

I have the touring on my 2.4 and its one of the best sounding 4 bangers ive ever heard. ive never heard the sport in person, but i listened to the soundclip at crate engine depot before i bought it. I hate the sound of rice, I wanted something not much louder than stock, mostly just deeper and some better flow. Im really happy with the touring. also I think that 2.25 tubing is ideal for the 2.4 unless you plan on doing more than bolt ons. as a little added bonus the gmpp exhaust weighs 10lbs less than stock.

SODEX, how did you got the GMPP exhaust for 300 installed. I priced both of them at the dealer and they were almost 600 for the sport and almost 500 for the performance.
