I saw GMPP neutral balance shafts on crate engine depot's site. What are they and what do they do? I already read the wikipedia article so I have a basic idea. Are they only sensible on a very highly modded setup?

 

neutral balance shafts are necessary when running at higher rpm, plus they free up just a few hp, but not much

 

I think its like only 5hp that you gain off of it.

 

You want these for over 8,000rpms and they free up 10hp.

 

I was talking to the wheels. I didnt think it would make 10 to the wheels. If it did i guarantee many more people would buy it. Of course price would be a big factor. I think the only downside to getting them is it increases sound from the engine.

 

there is no increased sound, and it is about 10hp to the wheels....but your gonna be dealing with some real heavy vibrations....worse than any tranny/motor mounts will ever give you

because of this reason, its not recommended unless you are highly modifying your engine
