Terry Cloth Microfiber Towels

Can Terry Cloth and Microfiber towels be washed (like in the washing machine/dryer) or once they are dirty should they be replaced? Also, same question for the spongey wax/polish applicators. Mine have accumulated some dirt over time.

microfiber, wash by itself. It will collect all the lint from other towels.
