Breather question

i have a friend with a 2.2 ecotec cavalier. the intake had me curious...there is a hose that runs from the head to the intake tube. he put a little breather on the head instead and plugged the hole on the intake tube. i have also seen other people on here do it so question is...what does it do? anything? or does it just look cool? thanks in advance...im just starting to learn about 4cyls ive never owned one before.

Not sure which breather line you are talking about, but puting a mini breather filter on the end isn't going to do much for you performance-wise. A lot of it is if your aftermarket intake doesn't have a spot to hook the breather up then you can put the filters on instead. I know my K&N had the hookup but i'm not sure about the other ones.

oh and ricers like them to cuz they give more pretty colors to the engine bay.

yeah i posted the same thing. i think its for air circ for valve cover and something else. but its probly better to just leave the hose on thats what they told me to do i found one of those filters at best buy but nah its cooler with the hose on there.

probably best just to leave the hose on man the air filter thing is not worth getting in any way if he wants to spend some money on something get some color hoses
