Info i got from GMinsidenews.com

So I heard from another anonymous source earlier today about the turbo Cobalt. I have friends in car clubs around metro detroit that have seen '5' Cobalts running turbo ecotec setups LNF with GM employee stickers on their front windshields dressed in SS-S/C body...

well I just got wind of a person that saw the Cobalt factory earlier this summer and saw a Delta platform car-body less- with the Solstice GXP/Sky RL Ecotec turbo (but adapted for fwd, as opposed to their rwd). I'm confirming from my source the coupe style body so as to not be confused with the HHR SS right now...

The """"NEW"""" information is that this car had 'huge BREMBO brakes' end quote on all wheels! Taking after the corvette here? I think so.

Also, my guys from these car clubs also said to expect a Cobalt SS Turbo concept to debut at LA or Chicago. Just a heads up...

again this is a rumor, and should be placed in the rumor mill, and taken with a grain of salt as we were Supposed to get a 08 Cobalt MCE but that never happened and rumors were RAMPANT about that.

so yes, I'm waiting for the turbo Cobalt!

i asked my local dealer today about the SS/TC cobalts and he said "well they're not making 08 models, but they're working on it"
which definately means something's up.
Also, anyone notice that the HHR SS'S have black mesh grills but same body, and the "LEAKED" pics for the ss/tC's had teh ss/sc body but black mesh grills
hell yes!

True bee. They get their info mainly from brochures and little short vids that give basic information about a car and some other stuff.

Yeah that is what i thought thats why when people go to the dealership and ask and the dealer says something people run to this site and say what the dealer said that is why there are so many 08 turbo cobalt threads but unlike this guys source its coming from some where and which he says its just a rumor so thats good better then this person told me for sure that the 08 are turboed SO DEALERSHIPS DONT KNOW NO MORE THEN WE DO AND THEY WILL LIE TO GET YOU TO BUY ANYTHING AND TO GET YOUR BUISNESS BACK i hope this is ok to write hope i dont get in trouble by the mods

I went to a dealer to price a part. Parts guy asks me if I have 2.0. I say no 2.2 but would like to have 2.0. He says for better gas mileage. I say no it's supercharged and has about 60 more HP and he's like so it's got about 75HP Then I go look at Sastice GXP and ask salesman if he's heard anything about GM putting that engine in a 'Balt. He says they do already. I tell him no that's supercharged. he says the GXP is supercharged also, so I point to the turbo and tell him that's a turbo and show him the turbo on the engine cover. After that I just got the hell out of there. Stealerships should know more about what they are selling.

If I lived in Rochester NY, I'd be looking around the Delphi R&D center in HENRIETTA, since they are the ones testing the fuel systems!!!!!!!

There are some HHR's around since last October, that are running turbocharged 2.0 engines in plain black wrappers if thats any clue!!!!!!!! And that was all ready announced, besides all the turbocharged foreign Ecotecs!!!! 6 speed tranny's also!!!!

Chances are very good that a turbo could be in the mix for the new year after the HHR debuts. The SC is dead!!!

I have a few questions on this topic.

1. Is this supposed to come out next spring?
2.Will it look like the existing SS S/C?
3.Did GM even confirm anything about the release or is it all just internet rumours?

Nobody knows anything about the new cobalt noone can say it will turboed just because there are parts listed for turbos dont mean its for the cobalt for one it have not been released what it looks like what hp it will have or anything these are all stipulations on what it may have casue rumors fly faster then an eagle in the sky

I haven't seen a single bit of proof yet. Just internet rumors since the accouncement of the hhr ss.

I hate to say this, but cobaltcrazy quotes this website when he refers to cobalt rumors Its a viscious cycle of misinformation. I will say something, wait until after Jan 2008 for more info .
