Rear Brake Change Help

Hey just did front brakes on my ss/sc trying to do rears. I cant get the piston in far enough to get it over the new rotor and pads, what am i not doing. Frotns went perfect. Car is on jack need help quick

the rear pistons might have to be turned in i have never seen the rears tho so just a guess.

Like said above, the piston might need to be turned in. If there is any markings or indents on the piston it will have to be turned in. If they are just like the fronts with the whole in the center then they need to be pushed in exactly the way you did the front.

i had the same prob lol i just put the old pads back on the new rotors since they only had 2000 miles...but would love to now how to fix this

figured it out, just pinched the piston in the middle with needle nose pliers and turned it cclockwise till it whent in far enough.

all four rotors and pad sets on and the car feels great

Did you have to take off the ebrake cable while attempting this change. I need to change my rears and was trying to find a post on this and it's hard to come by. Thanks

Rears are as easy as the fronts. All you have to do is either do what Cobalt Kid did with the pliers or go to your auto parts store and purchase a piston tool. Get the universal one and it will fit exactly on the Cobalt Piston and turn in clock wise, this will push the piston in and allow you to put the caliper over the new break pads. No disconnects needed for the ebrake.
