Any car making serious power (300+ hp) would be a 3" exhaust setup. Anything below that would be 2.5", the 3" would be too big.

3" unneccessary and loud.
2.5" would be the best compramise.

I would do the following. ZZP mid length ceramic header and 3" cat downpipe reducing to 2.5". bolt to stock exhaust. then you have options down the road. either keep it stock, custom 2.5" for a more sound (warning you will get alot louder) or 3" (so loud your friends will not go for a road trip with).

I have Shorty ZZP and catted downpipe and custom 3" exhaust with Flo-Pro muffler and resonator. I like it, others say it is great hearing me coming and gone. need a little less decibels though for a daily driver IMO. I am hopefully coming up with a baffle for my 3" inside diameter which is possible for reducing 10 decibels. I dont care how loud it is when I get on the gas but cruising down the highway I would like a quite ride. Were planning a major road trip.

2.5" though make sure they are mandrel bent or it will be worthless....though if your going the turbo route with 300 hp a 3" would be the right size.

Sorry for a newb question but i guess it would be absolutely stupid for you guys to buy the gmpp exhast right? I think its only 2.25"...is that the 2.4l and 2.0l stock size? (im a 2.2l....i guess im 2.0"..maybe not)

But anyone konw why the performance one is cheaper than the touring one....i dont get it?

Hmm what are you talking about specifically? Cat back or whole exhaust?

best way to go for good flow. 3" downpipe for all systems. cat can be very restrictive. A 3"inch will flow really nice with stock or 2.5"

Now that is what I am talking about.

I will have my whole exhaust for sale soon. from header to chrome tip. will sell for insanely cheap too.

is that true?

all ive heard is that the resonator on the performance is straight thru and on the touring its baffled? so im scared to go touring...wouldnt it cause less flow?

and guys what do u think is better honestly ive never done mods before sorry for being a newb....same size dp all the way to the end of the exhaust, or for example a 3" dp and then 2.5" back...?

may i suggest a solution - best of both worlds. go full 3" with cat for obvious reasons I have posted earlier. and put on a tip that would allow a 4" opening. then get a silencer for the tip. there are a few out there. I plan to make one for my 3" resonated tip but I have found a few interesting pieces.
