lsj in cavy
yes it will, however it would cost more money to make it work(electronically, harnesses, ecu, and ect)than its worth. unfortunately, 4cyl chevys aren't like hondas/acuras where you can swap parts in and out like Mr. Potatoe Head...lol
It will work, but like blackngold20 said the wiring is going to cost you and be a pain! You would be better off swapping a 2.2 from a 03-05 cavalier and putting a S/C on it. Will save you alot of money and time!
You could do that or go the turbo route and save tons of money and be faster...thats what I wish I would have done instead of putting nitrous on my cavy 2.2 ecotec and blowing a wrist pin.
Won't work the LSJ's have throttle by wire and the power steering is much different...it would take a ton of money to make it work...
Just get a stand alone and you should be fine. Then just get the mounts fabbed up and should be easy from there. Like the people said above I am not sure it would be worth it. You a pretty much limiting yourself at 300 hp and that may not even be 300 safe HP. Now if you are looking to do the swap and go turbo without the blower you would have one hell of a cavy. Just my opinion.
i have also thought about doing this and making a drag car out of it, since i have a spare motor and tranny with complete wiring and computer for an ss/sc. Its either that or building a sand rail / dune buggy with it, which would probably be a little bit easier.
might as well do the 3800 s/c v6 swap, same amount of work...more of the engines around. ,more aftermarket support..and best of all, more power
visit www.j-body.org , as this swap was done, and discussed many many times

thanks for the info i really appreciate all the knowledge everyone has
i just loved the lsj that i had in the ss/sc and i was tryin to find other cars to put it in that would make it more of a sleeper to mess with the honda crowd around my area
I do think the 3400 or the 3800 would be a good swap but four cylinder sleepers are a lot more fun, obvisiouly with all the people with hondas and acuras but i cant stand all the crap about the b18 and h22 crap that they tried to pull on the cobalt. yes they are good swap engines especially in cars that are so light weight , but one you have to know how to drive, and just because they are bigger motors in smaller cars, does not mean it will beat every car. Don't get me wrong not everyone that owns a honda or acura is that way by no means but as with everything its the kids that thinks these things that ruins it for some people.
Thanks

MY buddy has a 01 or 02 can not remember, but he is swapping the 2.2 out of the 03-05 and S/C it. Also just fully built it! You should just got that way with this and save yourself the time and money. He is on here I will have him post everything that you will need if you want to go that way!
