is something wrong with my exhaust??

I just got my GMPP Sport catback, installed it and all but didnt have all three clamps so used two and a u bolt clamp which didnt exhasut fit that great but its temporary i put that on the other side of the muffler pipe opposite the tip...also i havent adjusted it neough so now taht my tip is sticking out only a little barely enough to see the chevy logo on the tip and its on the left side so it hits the bumper a little when i take off soemtimes u can hear it rattle....my question is i was told this exhaust was pretty quiet in the car at low rpms, when i take off this thing is loud and annoying like ear popping and my car inside vibrates a tiny bit so when im cruising in low rpms in 4th or 5th or any gear its jus like so loud and annoying until i put it in nuetral then its quiet...my question is is this normal for this exhasut, can it be loose or like be vibrating against my bumper causing this annoying sound that my girlfriend doesnt stop complaining about and it gives me a headache everytime i drive, i almost want to take it off but want some advice first...sorry for the long explanation lol...thanks

sounds like an exhaust leak. with the car running, put your hand over the exhaust tip so that it is "airtight". if it's very easy to cover it, then there's a leak. to find the leak, if you can't feel it, it's probably right by the muffler based on what you're saying. so cover the tip and feel around that "u clamp". if you feel air rushing out it's leaking.

Like D4u said, its prolly an exhaust leak, I jsut had this fixed myself on my GMPP Performance and it was leaking right by the clamp on the tip...tightened it up, and no more leak...HUGE difference and it was only a tiny leak.

you can get them at any auto parts store, pretty cheap. i picked up 3 of them a few months ago, i think it was like 5 or 6 dollars for all 3. get the size of your exhaust. make sure you tighten it good, and check it every few days at first to make sure it didn't come loose. you can also get exhaust tape to put around it for extra leak proofing. it's about 3 dollars a roll, and looks like tin foil but is sticky. will take care of it. you should be able to fix the whole thing for about 5 dollars or less.

if you're not sure don't use it. i haven't seen any with the strings in it, but i can't say for sure. it's specially designed for exhausts though, to hold up to the crazy heat. if what you use isn't designed for high heat, it won't be bad, but will probably burn up and stink to all hell. or fall off.
