I'm assuming that you are speaking of the headlight bulbs. If that's the case, then you have to take out the two 10mm bolts that hold the headlights in place then remove the headlight from it's location. There are two plastic twist on covers, one on each headlight, that you take off to remove the bulbs. First time twisting these off will be a task, but after this they will be easier to remove.

its actually really simple. when you open the hood there's two bolts right on top of the headlight. if you take them out you can move the assy forward or even out of the car to get better access

You have to take the headlight out first.

Take out the clips for the radiator shroud. They are body clips that lock. Just use needle nose pliers to pull the inside up, then the collar will come with it after that. Once you have those clips out, there are two aluminum nuts that hold the Bowtie on the front of your car. Remove those and the bowtie. Then you have to unclip the shroud from the front bumper cross-beam that the bowtie is monted on. Once you have the shroud out, it's as easy as two bolts for each headlight. they're at the back of the headlight on the top. Make sure to unplug the harness before you pull too far...

I guess some people don't like chips in their fenders and some do.

Can't help it if I do things the right way...

Sure do. It'll be a lot tighter fit w/ the radiator shroud in there because you won't be able to flex the bumper as much to slide the headlights in. But, it's up to you...

yea, just reverse it. it also depends on the fitment of your bumper around the lights. some fit great, some dont. on my 2.2, i didn't have to do anything, just unbolt and they would come right out. on my 2.0 though, when i took it out to do my intake i felt like i was going to break or scratch something. so, just see if they will come out first without taking anything else off, if they don't want to then start to loosen things.

Looks like your 2.2 was built on a Friday Dust...

You still enjoying the LSJ or are you starting to think about mods?

yea. other than that fitment issue, NEVER had a problem with it though. believe it or not, i miss that car sometimes.

well so far it's got the stage 2 tune, 2.9", intake, tq damper, strut bar, colder plugs, and injectors. for now that's enough i guess. without going crazy and ripping up the engine, which i don't want to do, there's nothing really left except smaller pullies, and exhaust work. and i really don't like the way exhausts sound on the cobalt, so i probably won't do that. right now it's more than enough power for me. till i get more used to it maybe.

give it a shot. it's not hard at all. you'll see about the fitment issues if you have them. you just have to wiggle, and take the light out at an angle. it will make perfect sense when you're doing it. like stated, don't pull too hard, on mine the slack is only about less than a foot, and you don't want to rip the wire out.
