Sunroof Trim

SOOO my trim around my sunroof button fell off about a month ago and i found out the person who owned it before me superglued it back up because the tabs were broken. Well i ordered a new trim and it still wouldn't stay up. Any of you guys have this problem. I think its a problem in the headliner. I have to take it to the dealer to possibly get a new headliner. I have the bumper to bumper coverage so it should be under warrany but we all know how crazy they are. But seriously any one else have this problem??

Yes, it's covered under warranty, I've had mine replaced three times now. There is a TSB for it, I'm too lazy to search for it on here, but if you look it up, show the TSB # to your dealer if they give you any crap about it. There's a thread somewhere listing all known TSB's.

What do you guys do to your cars? My 05 has had its fair share of problems but the sunroof trim falling off was never one of them.... I am curious why they are falling though

I think it is more to do with the bracket the actual switch sits in. I've taken my headliner out to cover it with suede and had a look at it. It is very easy to bend, and maybe the slots where the trim fits is a bit outta whack. Thats my guess.

If you have to remove the cover around the switch, there is a chance that you can break the mounting tabs, its just plastic. After you get a new cover, it sometimes will not lock into position without dropping the headliner. GM has redesigned the bracket that the cover hooks to solving this problem. Just need a new cover and new mounting bracket installed.
