A Few Urgent Questions!

Hey guys.

1. Well, I was doing some looking on the 'Bay and stumbled into these. They're EXACTLY what I want. Stock, but just black instead of chrome. And none of that LED/projector bullshit. Anyone have any experience with these/the seller? Any pics? I have a blacks 2.4 coupe and I figured the black headlights would look amazing!! Here is the link:

2. For the Ion Recaro seats, will they bolt right in to the factory Cobalt coupe holes? No mods? I'm like 99% positive the fronts do at least. I could really care less about the back, but most sets included the backs.

3. Has anyone on here tried just a universal weld-on muffler instead of a full cat-back? And I don't mean some lame-o $5 eBay N1 pipe. I mean like a Magnaflow, Dynomax, Thrush, etc. A normal muffler. Then just like use the OEM tip. I did that on my dads Monte. '04 SS and I put 2 Dynomax Super-Turbos on and it sounds REALLY good. Not all raspy like most 3.8's sound with exhaust on them. I know it won't change the power any, but I want a little more of a sound. Just a little. So I'd probably go with another Dynomax. But anyone have any input on that?

4. Anyone make the Chevy bowtie badges for the front/rear that are already blacked out? I think it'd look real clean if you just blacked out the gold bowtie and left the outside chrome. Otherwise, how hard are they to remove completely?

5. Anyone try an eBay intake yet? Like one of those $60 dollar ones? I mean, an intake is a freakin' intake. I have to get a new filter soon anyway, and i mean, if I can get an intake for the price of a K&N drop-in, **** it. Or, anyone selling a good brand one (AEM, etc.)? Here's an eBay one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...QQcmdZViewItem

6. Is the s/c front lower lip more than just a couple bolts to attatch it to the SS n/a bumper? And how often do they come up on the forum for sale? I really don't want to pay freakin' $400 or whatever it is for the thing new from GM.

7. Alarms. Has anyone installed a fuel-kill-switch under the dash or added an aftermarket alarm ontop of the factroy one? Is this do-able? Cost prohibitive?

8. Some douchebag hit my car while I was at a concert last weekend. I have 2 small dings on my passenger side now. On the front fender, and the rear quarter. What's the cheapest (but not shady) way of fixing this? Just go to GM/other expensive bodyshop, or something else? Or is there someway I can do this under a warranty? lol. I've never had a warranty before...

Thanks!!!!!!!

I need to know this stuff ASAP guys. I get paid on friday and I have the bug to buy some **** for the car...

You need to split these questions up and put them in different threads. Someone sees this and thinks, damn itll take me like 35 mins to answer all that.....

I had a ding on the rear passanger side of my car. I let the bodyshop at my dealership know and they had a touchless dent company come into the dealership and do the work for them. Only cost $100 and you can't even tell there was anything there. So maybe look in your yellow pages for something like that unless it's something deeper or there is paint missing

1. just paint your own... theres a how to on it... and its cheaper....
2.not sure....
3. yes alot of people do it to save alittle cash... but in the end a cat back will be your best choice for your money,
4. yes people do it all the time... I removed all my badges except to the front one and i nightshaded it so that its all black and it looks great!
5.yes but most people dont use the filter that goes with it... they put an aem dryflow with an injen hydro shield on it... or they get the injen intake... because INJEN FTW
6.yes and no.. its just a cople of clips but the 2.4 bumper doesnt have the holes for clips..
7.If you think you need an alarm i would just get one...
8. get your insurance to pay for it... if you havent told them yet, DO IT... they may fix it for you... if the guy that hit you ran... then you may get it... (thats why i always take pictures of the liscense plates of the cars next to me whereever i park lol)

SO there you go... good luck

^ Thanks, man. Yeah, for some reason, it didn't occur to me to get his plate. I've never had a situation like that so I guess I just didn't think about it. lol. I did momentarily consider kicking his door though. lol. I probably would have if I was leaving right away, but I figured he'd be back and that'd just get messy. lol.

I'll respond to a couple of the questions

1. I think the grey looks much better than the black headlights on some colors of balts. I custom painted mine and tinted the turn signals. I used wheel paint and radio controlled car window tint spray.

4. I think someone on here sells custom painted bowties, but if i were you i would just do it myself because its a very easy thing to do. buy some automotive spray paint and sand the emblem, tape off the chrome and spray away

5. I have an ebay intake and it works alright, there is some gain. The bolt on bracket broke for mine, so i had to custom cut and fit one to bolt it down. Also, cutting the last 2" off the end of the intake is required for better flow. I use the original filter that came with it, and it works great. I recieved a p0103 code once or twice, but it seems to come on when i bounce off of redline accidentally.

if you don't want to buy a whole intake, you can do an airbox mod with almost the same gains for the cost of a filter and still look stock as well. I changed from my air box mod to Aluminum ebay CAI and i don't know if there is a difference. Only a dyno would be able to tell, and the difference may only be 2 hp.

But that's the thing, I don't want the intake to look stock. I took the rest of the engine bay bulky plastics off and the intake is the last bulky thing that has to go. haha

well, i got the titanium ebay intake and it looked nice when i got it, but due to adjustments for rubbing issues, i have many scratches through the anodized aluminum. Choose color well, and be careful when installing if you want ot keep the looks.
