I was curious to know whether SS S/C owners are replacing their tires with different ones, or sticking with the same type. I'm at 5,600 miles, and my front tires are almost completely worn down. I'm not too happy. I may rotate them to the back, but any ideas?

PS- I really don't burn out at all, so is it the roads in AZ, or the fact that they are soft tires?

 

I'm @ almost 6K and my tires still look good try rotating every 3K Found tires 225/40R18 for roughly $85 per they look to be approx same size as ours but I need to know if they will throw of the speedo at all PM me if you want to know where.

Stock Cobalt SS rims are 25,6 inch in diameter. 225/40R18 are 25,1 inch in diameter. There isn't any problem to run with them, since they are only 2 % different. But I would not suggest to run thsoe with lower suspension springs.

 

that was a great read and makes me very happy i only use shell vpower. next time i use my girlies 97 civic, which has 220,000 miles on it im going to do it a favor n put in that v power and use the techron. Awesome find. O and im roataing my tires tomorrow got 4xxx miles on them

Every girlfriend I've taken out in cars always rips on me for going to Shell b/c of the cost, but I guess those were pennies well spent!

 

No doubt on the Shell gas. I'll pay the extra pennies for a cleaner engine down the road. Learned a long time agi if you stinch on something, you pay for it later anyhow, so may as well pay for it up front, right?

I'd actually considered using STP Fuel Injector cleaner with every oil change on my Cobalt just like I always did with my Cavy and had intended to start with my next upcoming oil change. It seemed to help the rough idles/starts I'd had with the Cavy when I first bought it used...but after reading that article maybe that product by itself isn't quite enough. Anyone have any other recommendations since the products listed in the article apply only to the US and to the best of my knowledge Techron is not available in my area?
