I just got a quote of $950 for parts, install and after taxes. What do you think?

a little high.
but not completely unreasonable.
parts can be found for around $500ish....but dealers often charge more.
install can be found for anywhere from $150-350 (any higher is a rip off)

Have you asked them what they would charge just for the install if you bought the kit yourself?

I fully intend to install the stuff myself, the day I pay a shop to do something I am perfectly capable of doing myself will be a sad, sad day.

I'm one of those guys that just doesn't care about the warr. I'm a decent enough mechanic that has the tools and resources available to make nearly every type of repair to my vehicle(s). I'd rather buy the parts myself and save the money from the labor.

That's just me though :p
