SS/SC winter driving
hey all,
For those that live in places where it snows, how do you find the stock tires handle in the winter?

They don't... city people might say otherwise, but if you aren't in the city on plowed/treated roads, which isn't winter anyway technically... they don't work at all.
Yeah, they suck. I got stuck in my driveway once. Sometimes when I'd park and try to leave, I'd get sucked against the curb and stuck.
I'd plan on not driving it much without getting at least 2 winter tires on the front.

yea but i have the stock pirelli's haha seriously though fall where i live is worse cause it rains twice as much as its dry and then when all the leaves fall of the trees and its raining you get no traction at all
winter is pretty bad though, i do use the stock tires though cause oregon doesn't know how to drive so if the roads get icy at all everything shuts down and you just dont go anywhere. and i take my dads suburban to go to the mountain so its all good.

They aren't all seasons, and they absolutely suck donkey ***** in snow/ice. When the ABS kicks in when you gently apply the brakes on less than a couple inches of frozen snow/slush going downhill....it ain't pretty. I bought 4 16" steelies and some Blizzak revo's for this winter. I'm prepared this winter.
i drove my ls, 2 days after i bought it, with the stick **** on it in 3 ft of FRESH snow over a mountain pass and it was fine...try getting a damned driver mod....thats what it is about (for us)...all you ss/sc guys are sol///your tires are slicker...made for dry traction...not snow.... i lived in ellensburg wa though, all winter with the stock balt and no studs or chains and did fine (for those that dont know its a mountany snow town during the winter)
The SS has Pirelli P6 All-Seasons
The SS/SC has Pirelli PZero Rosso Max Performance Summer ONLY tires.
They're two COMPLETELY different models.
They suck.. and would not recommend driving in them.. i slid right through an intersection, doing 50kmph.... and i gave my self PLENTY and I mean PLENTY of time to stop and still went through.. if ur looking for a death wish.. lol i would not drive with them.. get steelies and winter tires.
