rpms a little high

it seems when im in fifth my rpms are riding too high for the speed im going. ever since i started noticing this my mpg guage has went from 25mpg to 22mpg. at 80mph im at 3k rpms for example. i wanna take it to the dealer but im afraid its from something i did and they will charge me money. the only thing i have done for performance is the intake mod with a aem filter. there is also a flowmaster-type muffler on the car but it was on the car when i bought it so im guessing it cannot be the problem. any input is accepted. thanks guys

not sure about the RPM thing. sounds about normal.

keep in mind that with the cooler weather generally comes a slight drop in MPG.

with a stick, the only way your rpm to speed ratio can be changed is if the gears in the tranny or the gears in the diff are changed.

yepp 80 MPH at 3K is completely normal the colder weather will drop MPG a little and those mods wouldnt void your warranty except for the stock parts that you changed out. the only was the intake could voin your warranty is if you got waterlocked like submerged it in water and they could prove thats what caused a malfunction

mileage on car... its typical but you might just need a little tune-up

plugs/filters/cleaners/etc
