joeworkstoohard goes 10.261 in an all motor 2.4SS

...in the 1/8th mile

seriously tho, what should a 2.4 be doing in the 60' i feel that i am losing most at that point because i have so much trouble getting traction.

So you would run a approx. 20.522 in the 1/4 mile and you have traction issues?

no... you are still accelerating afterwards... you don't hit top speed by 1/8th mile.

Lets see some more information from your slip...

I am not fully sure but that sounds like a high 15's in the 1/4

you're right on the money, that should net approx a 15.8

reaction. .393
sixty foot 2.406
660 10.261
mph 71.45

for comparison, the last 1/4 i ran was...

reaction .772
sixty foot 2.475
330 6.865
660 10.405 @ 69.57
1000 13.419
1/4 15.947 @ 88.25

well, that's my point, i'm a **** driver, i know that... i'm just curious what people that do well are running in the 60 foot.

i'm not even worried about reaction at the moment, i'm not a bracket racer.

i've played around with it, seems that my best runs are launching around 2k, but even that, i'm spinning through first pretty well. i'm thinking that i may also just have **** tires. i shouldn't have the power to just spin them at will.

if you mean the torque dampener, then no, i don't.

i have poly filled mounts, which helped a lot, but i'm still not where i really need to be.

a 2.1 is a good 60ft time for street tires just more time practicing at the track is all you need

that's what i am thinking.

most peoples ideas are of the "just throw money at it" variety.

this is the first 5 speed front drive car that i have ever had the "pleasure" of taking down a raceway....

Yup just keep practicing and you'll get better.

There was a how-too i believe on launching a car which gave me a few good pointers that I wasn't doing.
