2.4 SS sedan project car in GM high tech magazine .

Hope this isnt a repost . One of the editiors got a 07 SS sedan as a DD so their using it as a project car . I thought they were just doing all the GMMP mods as a 1 time article . At the end it says ....stay tuned , lots to come with this car .

So it , may o may not be a cool one to follow .

Hey cool. Be keeping an eye on that. The Sedan always seems left out.

whp or hp?

seems like the exhaust really isn't worth it unless what you want is a nicer sound

anyone has a scan of that article?

I bought the magazine today--just for this. Nice to see write ups on the 2.4L

Stock it ran 15.6@86mph--sadly they did not get to test it with the mods done--probably will at a later date.

The exhaust gain was extremely small---I wonder if (some how) an error occoured...

Yeah, I saw that the other day too. That makes THREE mags doing a Cobalt build now. HCI/Neil Tjin has that black SS/SC, PAS (Performance Auto & Sound) Mag was doing that yellow 2.4SS coupe there for a while.....haven't really seen much of it though lately......and now this mag is doing up the 2.4SS sedan. Wow, 3 mags, and 2 2.4SSs......not bad for us forgotten Cobalts, lol.

both of those #'s exactly sound right on.

definitely got nothin but a change of sound from exhaust (not counting header) and a little somethin from the intake so that sounds about right.

Too bad they didn't use the k/n typhoon intake. It would of been nice to getdyno numbers other than what k/n have reported.

The GMPP part is certainly not garbage. You only gain from exhaust when you need it.

If you start making some heat, the GMPP will be a great addition. But on a mostly factory car, you'll see little gain unless you were getting knock beforehand.

No question manufacturers make big claims.

In the end, most buy exhaust to get the impression/sound of speed.

No, it really is crap, I'm sad that I ever paid $500 for 1hp. I'll be either upgrading to 2.5" catback OR catbackless (nothing after downpipe). haha

Yeah, the GMPP exhaust seems like a waste. Restrictive 2.25" piping size and a muffler/tip that basically looks stock.

Def not for me.

I've had the ARK N2, along with a CA header and XTC 2.5" de-cat downpipe on since November '06, and I love it. No dyno numbers, but def felt a nice increase in power and it sounds badass!!

yeah the stock look is great..i hate the big ass mufflers that just sit there...not a big fan of the ark...just looks..eh its not my taste.i doubt the gain is 1.2whp..how can a stock ss/sc dyno stock then with the gmpp exhaust and gain 12whp...hmmm. and then a 2.2 gain a similar gain even on that redline tv show...hmm and then how could the same car with the same size stock piping as the ss/sc get a 1.2whp...sounds odd to me guys....and isnt the gmpp manufactured by Borla??and then thats garbage..the ehxaust is not garbage the intake they make is for our car..end of story..haha
