Rear sway bar, worth it?

Has anyone here used the Progress rear swaybar or any others on an otherwise all stock suspension? Was there much, if any, improvement that you could notice from it?

rear sway makes more difference than any other single suspension mod. if you have a redline(as your screen name suggests) it will make a huge difference in your handling. with springs and shocks or coilovers the package is alot better.

Even if I have no intentions of autocrossing and just street driving? I guess you already have one, so you could answer this. Did you notice any creaking noises or any other odd sounds after adding the sway bar? I'v noticed on others cars that I've did suspension work on that they would sometimes be noisey over bumps. How does the Progess bar mount on the Ions/Cobalts?

it doesn't mount like other bars ive had in the past, the two arms that the rear springs set on is where the ends of the bar bolt and it tucks up inside where the lateral torsion bar is. also it's a solid bar as opposed to a tubular one. i haven't noticed any increase in suspension noise but im usually too engaged in driving to care.

Does it bolt right up without modifying anything?

yea it's actually like a 10 min job at most, four bolts and it's done. i needed to jack up the rear but if you're skinny you could probly do it on the ground.

not sure at the moment, i got mine in a group buy from turbo tech racing. shop the vendors and check around you can usually find one that's cheaper than the others but it rotates.

I got it, and I noticed a HUGE difference. My car feels so much better. I added the pro-kit springs first and it was nice, then I added the rear sway and front strut and its now a totally different car.

Next I am going to upgrade the shocks or maybe coilovers

on the contrary is is the one item that made my cobalt's handling predictable. before i installed it i never knew if the car was gonna over or understeer going into a turn. with the rear sway it always has mild oversteer while entering a turn off the throttle and noticeably more it you brake into the turn, which is how i like it.

Huge difference. I hate driving stock ssscs Even if your planing on keeping your car stock, springs and a rear sway help so much.

X2 If you get another skinny friend to hold up the other side and bolt it on it should take about 2 minutes. Im freakin' huge and I didnt have to jack the car up. Car handles awesome now. I just need some new tires. BFG TA KDWS fo sho lol.

Does the progress bar hang down real low on the connecting end links where it's real visible? What I mean is, can you see the bar hanging down when standing beind on on the side of the car?

Nope. It kinda tucks under the rear axle beam.
