I'm getting a Black 2006 Cobalt SS/SC. Black leather seats with Red Inserts. What are some things I should look out for or be aware of? I'm pretty excited to get it, been waiting for it to come in and finally has and will get it this Sat.

Make sure you take pictures of your car at the dealership when you go to pick it up. Also shake the salesmen's hand in front of the car and take a pic of it too. Thats the hip thing these days!

ummm, i bought the Road Hazzard Tire Warranty, the warranty that you get normally doesnt cover road hazzards. but that was just me, only $65 for 3 years

Check for orange peel (bumps or imperfections) in the paint carefully, and watch for any peeling or cracking thereafter. I hear some bad things on here about paint. I hope I have no problems when I get my car.

Wouldn't worry much though, that is what warranty is for. And if your dealer sucks, there are always others.

 

if you buy it get gap insurance and extended warranty. also make sure to check for any mechanical defects upon test drive and put the car under good lighting to see any issues with the body (black does best showing issues).

gap insurance is a must extended warrenty I would say .... I didn't get it ... check this out ... if your getting a sun roof check the lil plastic housing and insure that it is held on TIGHT ... make sure the seal on the windows is secure ALL the way around ... check the intake tube to insure that the stupid lil screw isn't facking rubbing on the intake if it is have em shave it or something ... since you have the inserts on the doors check for edge peeling around EVERYTHING ... take the car for a small drive and watch the boost gauge and make sure it gets boost to at least 5 when you barely touch the gas in any gear (above 1st otherwise you will take off like a bat outa hell) if it doesn't and takes some time to create boost tell them to look over it. ummm thats all I can think of at the moment ... OHHHHH wait I know I know ... have fun
