Stiffer Gas Pedal?

Sorry if this has been covered before...but I couldnt find anything on this...how do i get the gas pedal to give me more resistance? make it stiffer? in first and second gear if i go over any bumps it moves my foot slightly and makes the car lurch...kind of annoying...i just want to make it less sensitive...you know? any ideas?

never heard of this brought up before. maybe more right-foot-control? but i don't remember ever seeing anyone that had stiffened up the pedal.

not really over speed bumps...but when you're letting out the clutch, accelerating moderately, and hit some bad spots on the road. it starts a lurch which then makes my whole body kinda lurch which makes my foot move slightly...i guess its just gonna take some time to go from a '92 Prelude automatic to a '07 cobalt stage 2...but you know what i'm getting at? under hard acceleration its fine...i just dont want to be beating the snot out of her all the time...

possibly could put a return spring under the pedal.

thats about all i can think of too, or rust that bitch out haha.
If it were throttle body by wire like the older cars it'd be easy to adjust, and they're pretty resistant as is, no electric throttle body in them...no lag..no need for a grounding kit *sigh*

thanks for all the quick replies! its crazy how you dont realize how much more you have to "drive" a standard car vs. automatic...

lol I used to get that when I first got my car. The pedal is so damn sensitive that when you're letting out the cluctc and giving her gas, any bumps makes your foot jerk the gas pedal, which jerks the car, and amplifies your foot movement even more. I found once I started shaking it it would snowball until I just let off the gas.. it made me look like an idiot when I was taking off on a slow start from a light lol. I've gotten used to it now, and the poster above is right: the center console can be your friend.. haha
