steelies/painted steelies???

i plan on gettin myself a nice set of wheels and tires once summer roles around. but i dnt plan on runnin em in the snow and salt and what not. so for the winter i figured i wood use my steelies and wrap em in a set of snow tires. but i hate hubcaps, so much. so i was thinkin. what if i used the steelies, but i had em sandblasted/painted a gloss black (my car is black). now dnt go n say steelies suck, dont use em, i know. i dnt like steelies either. but unless ur gonna give me the money to get 2 sets of rims thats what i got. i can also get this done cheap because my friends father owns a body shop. now i know most ppl dnt like steelies on cars either, but i figured if i had em painted a glossy black it might loook a little better.

any thoughts?

Do you have the 5-spoke steelies or the ones with all the holes in them?

i wood love it. to me, steelies are the black rims with all the holes in them that look like garbage. so yes, i have the ones with the holes in them. and i wood love to buy orangebalts rims/tires but i dnt have any money. thats why i was wondering what you guys would think about jus makin em glossy.

but since im out of money, thats prolly what im gonna end up doing. pick up a couple cans of glass black paint and some glass clear coat.

jus lookin for your opinions on the look. and remember. i wood love new wheels, but im broke as hell

IMHO who cares, its in preparation for winter, at least you'll fit within the environment compared to some idiot on summer tires showing off their coolness,

safety > appearance

thats true. but its not going to be necessarily safe this winter, because i cant afford snow tires just yet. lol. so its gonna b a fun winter with no traction control and the continental touring tires. lol
