clutch fluid line question
clutch fluid line question
okay, i got my new SPEC 2+ installed, but i'm getting no love from the clutch as far as actually spinning the trans.
i lost a LOT of fluid while installing (like an idiot, i left the line hanging while i slept, waking up to a huge puddle on the floor) so i think there is a massive amount of air in the system.
i tried the old fashioned way of bleeding it, and no love...
but, before i go out in search of a vacuum bleeder, anything else i should look at?
the clutch doesn't make any noise or smells, and no fluid is coming out of the inspection hole, so i'm 99% sure that everything in the bell housing is happy.

air.. or your clutch isnt set properly.. could be partially engaged all the time.. when i did a clutch change on my altima.. i couldnt figure out for the life of me what was wrong cause it wouldnt go into gear.. turned out the clutch was engaged a bit at all times.. so I had to loosen off the pedal a bit for it to work.. I dont think our cobalts have that adjustment tho..
right, but if it was engaged at all, with the car on stands, the wheels would drag and turn slowly, that's not the case...
update, the vacuum bleeder is pulling air out of the line, ever so slowly...
is there a bleed fitting on the reservoir?
