Stage 2??

I was reading the instructions for the stage 2 upgrade and it said you have to have a preformance calibration after the installation of everything.
I went to chevy to get a price check on how much that would cost and they have no idea what im talking about. any ideas??

you should be taking it to your chevy dealer to install the whole thing.
it should cost no more than $200-300 for the full install.

when its installed at the dealership, you get full parts and labour warranty for the remainder of your vehicle warranty.
if you install if yourself, even if they do the reflash, you only get 12 months parts warranty.

Go to a another dealer. It is a flash code for the PCM. Use the words flash code and they should understand, if not, go elsewhere. Good luck!

They will do the flash when they do the install. But dont buy the kit from the dealership man they will rape you on the price. There is a brand new stage 2 kit on ebay right now for 380 Shipped. Or go to crate engien depot's web site, they offer stage 2 for 550$. Just buy the kit elsewhere and then go to the dealer to have it put in.

no it wont VOID your warranty, but it wont be covered the same was as if its installed by GM techs.

i mean really, think about it for a second, do you think GM wants to completely cover something YOU did in your backyard?
some retard could put the belt on wrong, miss/seat some injectors, blow some **** up, and they have to cover it? methinks not lol.

if you spend the money on Stage 2, you have already spent more than you had to, for the sake of covering your warranty. the stage 2 kit only has about $250 of parts in it.

so why spend the extra to save your warranty, and then cheap out and not get the full coverage you want by installing it yourself?

The dealership actually has an estimate of the time it will take to install stage 2. Anyway, go to another dealership. You need to go to one that has done stage 2 before.

The part from chevy itself is pretty darn expensive. Thats why most people here buy it from crateenginedepot for $550 or ebay. I would ask your chevy parts department to break down the price for you. How much is labor and how much is the part out of that 900? Sounds to me that the parts department is quoting a decent price on labor because they are looking at what it should take to do according to their system.

the mechanic dude is just blowing **** out of his ass.

If it is the first time they have done S2 I would give them quite a few hours to do it. If they have done S2 installs before I would think it would take no more than 2-2.5 hours.
