haha I called to ask them and they told me 15 inch would fit on an SS
to top it off they insist they are throwing some 15" rims on one of the London SS's early next week ...everyone with an ss knows that this wont happen because of a brake clearance... so Perma if you talk to any of the London owners inform them of this problem
which brings me to my dilemma ...McMaster has Malibu max rims on special 16X6.5 for 65$ a piece but they cant find wheels that wont mess up my speed and ODO ...they are insisting they wont reflash either ...
Perma I Just Called strathroy tire ...got a nice 16" with package for 800$ tax included goign to get it some time next week ...
tires are BF goodrich
PS remmeber I said I wouldnt put them on so soon ...I changed my mind after driving out thre today on the P Zeros ...it was dicey to say the least (dont know what kind of tires your LS came with)

a 205/55/15 tire is pretty close to the same diameter
alot of the j-body guys run 225/40/18's and the ss is a 215
im not sure if there is a tire size caculator here , but i know on j-body.org there is 1 , and it helps pick tire size that will work for you
here is the page it is on - http://www.j-body.org/library/tire.php

you cant get a 15 inch rim on a SS/SC cobalt becasue of brake clearance so getting a 15 inch tire on a 16 inch rim is going to be a chore

My LS came with the Michelin MXV4+ which was a 205/55-R16. The tires were a little slick in the summer in rainy conditions so I figured they wouldn't get any better as the weather got colder, the rubber seems to be really hard. On the other hand I almost had a **** when I took a turn this morning on the dry pavement and started sliding into the other lane...I really gotta let up on the throttle with the winters on!
EDIT: Hell that calc. did the trick I'm within 0.45% on diameter so if anything I'm going about 1/2 a km too slow.
