i want to free up some hp/tq with a exhaust system, mostly want more then a cat-back but can deal with it and get a high flow cat an the header to cat pipe changed. anyway though i want something that has good gains, but doesnt sound like shhhhhhhh, like a fart can. anyone have suggestions on this, i know on a 4 banger u have that given nasty sound but i want the nicest sounding good gaining exhaust. i hope that made sense

These are the dyno results of my 06 2.4L Cobalt SS Sedan stock...Now this was on an axel dyno (Front tires off of vehicle)... They said to about about 14.32% to the numbers to have an accurate reading of HP and Torque for my car... So thats 180.73 Ftlbs and 177.54 HP at the crank!! Not to shabby... Hope this answers peoples questions about how much power the 2.4L has!

can you post a pic of you car? Also doesn't an auto have more loss then a manual?

I defintely wouldn't get my hopes up that if I were you for those types of numbers.

We've seen dyno graphs here already showing ~158HP to the wheels, and the Solstice using the same engine but RWD instead of FWD is doing 146~150HP to the wheels.

I was talking to the GM Master Technician teacher at school the other day and he was saying that the auto pushes more torque than a manual.

From when I got my car Dynoed the guy said that a automatic suffers much more loss than a manual, something about the shift points... On a manual you can shift when you need to so it dynos fine, but on an automatic the shift points are different and they need to adjust the dyno accordingly... Thats what I was told... Still I was very happy with the numbers! :D
