Hey guys...

Anyone notice their 2.4 running any different with different brands of gas? I always use 93... But I mean different actual brands. I used BP 93 this past time and for some reason it seems to be running a little bit better. Like it's peppier. Always ready to go. Maybe it's just me? lol.

Anyone else notice anything like this?

Some gas stations "claim" to have 93 octane at the pumps but reality quickly hits that it's really 91 or lower. It's called false advertisement.

There was a news story about this before on TV called "Are you getting the real deal?"

They compared several gas stations with regular and premium and those who got premium were only really getting mid grade quality gas compared to premium because the octane points weren't high enough for premium but sufficent for midgrade. This meant the gas stations were fasley labeling the gas.

Most gas stations saying they have regular actually have less then 87. It's mostly rated at 85 or 86. The cars will run on this shitty gas with less fuel economy.

No way to tell your getting the real deal unless you feel the performance differene in the car.

I always use BP, never the shitty 7eleven etc. quick stop little gas stations. Although one time it was so much cheaper at one station I filled up, actually got 1 mpg more than usual.

I try to use only Chevron. They state that there gas is best. Here is a link on it.

Chevron Corporation was the first U.S. gasoline marketer to have its gasoline approved as meeting the performance criteria set by BMW, General Motors, Honda and Toyota for "TOP TIER Gasoline." From the Chevron website.

Always watch out for the mom and pop gas station. There tanks probably have not been replaced in years and fuel pumps may be worthless too. One needs a good pace to store fuel. Usually , you CAN judge a book by its cover when it comes to a Gas station.
