Amsoil 100% Synthetic, any 1 using?

I've been tempted to buy this oil for some time or it was going to be Royal Purple but was to damn lazy to look for it lol.. I put Quaker State 5w30 (not synthetic) and I think my car hates me as it felt sluggish (or my driving), good thing I gave the girl an engine clean b4 adding normal oil.

Anyways I'm just wondering if anyone is using Amsoil Synthetic. I know its expensive at $9.99 for 946ml/ one U.S. Quart at Canadian Tire but hey you get what you pay for right?

I have heard good things about both Amsoil and Royal Purple. They are expensive though compared to synthetics such as Mobil 1 and Quaker State.

With the quality of average Synthetics (mobil 1).. there is NO reason to waste your money on something like Amsoil..

and no.. you dont "get what you pay for"

It may be slightly better, but what benefit are you looking for?? more power? last longer? Well you wont get more power, and are you going to keep your car for 200+k miles? Not likely..

i use amsoil in my 502 big block chevelle and i love it comes out clean everytime.
also i would not use royal purple in my weed eater. i put in my motorcoaches opn time and the additives in the oil ate the piston rings. it also blew a racing motor of mine up also.
i think royal purple is terrible.

Well I noticed upon start up I can hear what appears to be the oil making it over what needs to be lubed, my Civic made the same sound (oil being pumped over the internals).. I'd like the engine temps to drop a few degrees if Amsoil will help that would be cool I just want some extra protection and ya I know I could have saved a few bucks buying Mobil one but here in Red Deer it wasn't going to be by much.

I use AMSoil... I loves it. A lot of people like Royal Purple.

I suggest adding a Quart of LUCAS OIL STABILIZER... helps to eliminate cold starts, which is a big deal with the coming Winter... especially for you in CANADA.

http://www.lucasoil.com/products/index.sd

I noticed a difference by adding the LUCAS... and so did my friend in his Eclipse GS-T. Mobil 1 will work fine for you... I do suggest adding LUCAS though.

You will not notice a difference. If you do, its in your head.

I'd rather spend my $ on something that matters.

You may not notice a difference switching from Mobil 1 to Amsoil... but the difference of adding LUCAS was noticeable. More noticeable on older cars... or Higher Mileage cars. I don't usually notice **** like that, but this was noticeable to me. Just the sound at start up was different.

It's not gonna give you more power, or anything like that. Its all in the start up; at least that's where I noticed it.

Ya start up is the worry I have! The faster the oil starts a flowing the better as I do live in the land of (wait 5 minutes for the weather to change if you don't like what it is now lol). I was using Lucas oil fuel additive but that was truly a waste of money!!

I'm not a fan of Fuel additives... I've never noticed a difference with any of them.

I DEFINITELY recommend at least trying the LUCAS Oil Stabilizer. At least check out their website... I dunno if they've got the demo on their that they use to... but its cool. The Lucas really helps the oil to "Stick" to the parts, instead of just running off. Its complicated... and I don't know how best to explain it.

Lucas oil stabilizer also quiets noisey aged motors. Works great for 2,000 miles before you have to add another bottle. Costs less then $10 and saves motor for sure.

Indeed it does. It shut my G/F's noisy ass motor the hell up. Smooth as a Shaved Va-Jay-Jay.
