Indexing spark plugs?

Anyone here ever index their spark plugs? Any worth while gains, or more of a waste of time?

I used to index my spark plugs on my race car which had a GM V8. Since our plugs come down through the top of the head, the benefit of doing this would be very negligible. The only way that it would really be worth anything would be to have the ground electrode closest to the exhaust valve.
