Universal question

I know I don't have a turboed Cobalt, but I do have a turboed car.

I installed a ram intake and as most of you know that tubing goes straight to the turbo. Well I noticed after installing it that it sounded like a BOV when I let off after revving it. My bypass valve does vent into the intake tube so since its a short ram do I hear it louder as there is nothing really in the way now.

Really noticed it today in town going up to speed and letting off its like dear god don't tell everyone now. It's like a mild tone BOV. Have anyone else noticed this?

Looks like I'll be getting a BOV even though I really didn't want one. You can tell I am now if you know what to listen for so I guess I'll get a better way to vent the recess air...want to take care of the potato.

That is completely normal. For example, after adding an intake to my Evo, the BOV sounded a lot louder, more like aftermarket. You can also hear the turbo spooling up a lot better as that is louder as well. It is kinda like how a CAI helps bring out the whine of the SC on the Cobalt.

I thought it was normal. New to me, but I don't like the fact now of people hearing that I have a turbo.

So its caused because there is no longer the vast amount of useless ducting in the intake? Been around turbos for a little bit, but this is my first vehicle. Trying to learn all I can about it.

That and the fact that everything is breathing easier due to more air getting in.
