I think the 2.2 and the 2.4 need diff sparkers. I went to get a step colder and the store told me I can't use the 2.0L ones, and that I needed to buy some 65 bucks worth of spark plugs to get em to work. could be wrong, but no one has been able to answer my on this same question, good luck! subscribed

its been this way for about 8-9 mo. and i cange my oil every 1500.miles just to be safe plus i use 5w 30 made by 7th gear performance lubricants i get a gallon for 7.99 and i bought all we had in stock from my work.. 10 cases of 2 gallons in a case.. and then i just go to auto zone for the filters and spend 8.00 for the filter so less then 20.00 for a hole oil change.. for synthetic oil...

btw i change my o2 sensors about every 2mo. and my plugs too. if i can use these plugs at my work then ill get them for 1.60 a plug at my cost...

any info about the plugs??

look up those part #'s on sparkplugs.com and it'll tell you the specs on each plug. IIRC the # just indicates the heat range. I believe 6 is one step colder and 5 is stock but don't quote me on that.

Also these plugs are much shorter than stock btw, they will work but I would maybe look for a plug that has the same reach as the stockers which is 25mm I believe.

i just noticed they were much shorter... i think the victory plugs we have at work are longer ill check them out tomarow.. if i can find the plugs at work then we can use other plugs that are cheaper...

if you can find a copper plug that is 1 step colder with the same specs as the stock plugs that'd be great.

the only thing I've found so far is iridium and like $8 a piece:thumbsdow

from what I gather on the Ion forums, NGK LXTR5A-13 is the plug you'll want for a 2.4.

i havent' researched it myself but that is what was recommended to a 2.4 guy on the IonForums

I'm not sure but i think you'll have to use a feeler gauge to set the gap. Because they would be running hotter than the plug you have.

since everyone is talking about the +1's.. is +2 bosche safe to put in my 2.2 ??? no forced induction..

I wouldn't recommend putting +2s in there.

Good to hear, I am gonna get the FI/C after the Christmast season and I already have access to a supercharger and intake off an SS...

we'll see...

It's that or the bottle again, but I want power on demand,

why would you not recommend +2's???

I've heard of nothing but trouble...maybe I'm thinking of a different plug though...

why would you not recommend +2's???

theres really no need to run anything other than stock.

and if those are colder than stock you will lose power vs a stock plug.

well i no the +4 bosches caused problems in jeffs car but his has difference ignition compared to the 07 models.. why would cold lose power?? i was left with the impression that the colder, the better the car would run.. just wondering because i am trying to learn this stuff.. if not the + ones.. than which ones do you recommend??

no, the only reason why you would even run colder plugs is to prevent knock and give more headroom for tuning. No different when you think about it then lowering compression or running higher octane gas. The less chance of knock the more aggressive you can go with your tune.

However, a stock car on stock tune or even a bolt on car with a stock tune...colder plugs will slightly decrease your performance. As I stated earlier, run stock plugs if you are not running any form of power adder.

well i no i plan to add forged pistons, rods, crankshafts, and cams, vavles and all that other stuff to forge the motor up.. what stock plug do you recommend other than the oem one in the car??
