WOW... how many miles do you have on the car.. this shouldnt be an issue untill 130,000 miles. this is a driver error.. do you ingage the clutch and coast up to stop lights alot.?

In my 2.4, it doesn't grind, but if I don't put it up into 3rd right in the middle ( ^ ), if it's tilting to the left or right, it kinda pops in.

by keeping the clutch in as you coast to a stop lite you heat up the syncros.. the cutch is only ment to be engages for 2 -5 sec period of time. it could have everything to do with this. if people would be taught how to drive stick properly then issues like this wouldnt arise.

do you feather it in to you gears .. ie being slow with the clutch to make your shifting smoother.. this also causes a large amout of heat/ wear on you syncro.

im not knocking you on your drivin skills its just a general statement^

i had 7500miles on my car and the 2nd gear synchro went bad. I took it to the dealer and the guy said something had slipped and it was not a driver error. It was all covered under warantee

nate, holding in the clutch wont overheat the syncros, they arent under stress, they are just winding down with the wheels. They arent understress because the car is slowing down, and they wont overheat because should be drenched in fluid. Hes got 80k plus, its probably normal wear, my advice, slide the shifter slower into that gear, the grind wont be as noticable.

yahh ive been just puttin it in neutral and rollin to a stop, now someone also suggested to me to put a little thicker fluid in there and it'll help not grind but it may be a little harder to shift, whats your input on that?

i was taught different but maybe that applies to older cars.... after all i was taught how to drive stick in a supercharged mustang.
