I really don't see the point of eliminating AC on these cars. The power steering being electronic removes one thing from the accessory belt and I would like to think that helps with power somewhat.

This car has 2 things on the accessory belt, AC and Alternator...

HELL YEA, another added to the group. it gives me major migraines, same with my mom. if u leave it installed and just get the new belt from the auto parts store you can switch it out between winter n summer. i havent had a/c since bout 4 days after i got the car... back in july 05

Its standard on all Cobalts unless I'm mistaken.

I don't use mine much; maybe only when I'm going somewhere nice and I have good clothes on.

My old S-10 pickup had old-school R12 A/C and it was like being in a freezer compared to most newer cars.

wait, so you're saying that you ditched about 250 pounds of stuff, took the ac belt off, and dropped ONE tenth, and that was a good gain? that's probably just from the weight reduction. if you're not using the ac i don't think it takes any power at all.

the AC on the car shuts off at 90% throttle if its on and is off unless you turn on the defogger or push the AC button.

I use my ac! I live in south Mississippi, it gets sticky hot down here in July & August. My ac in my Jeep has never worked too well, but I always have the top & doors off.

Use my A/C all the time in the summer because of the humidity.
