NEW door panel mod... what do you think??

Ok well let me give a little history first. In stock form the car had light tan interior, fabric seats, etc. with manual locks and windows. Eventually i did a power window conversion, but when i was done i wasn't sure what to do with the hole that remained. What made it tougher is that the peice that turned the window stuck through the door panel a later. So for a while, i covered it up with a leather patch.

Then i decided to do this:

The black speaker grill material is the exact same, i took it off of another cobalts door panels

I like the idea, but I don't like how far out that cone goes. Maybe reduce the size slightly and put a tweeter in there. Make it a functional speaker :-P

yea, its as close to the door panel as it can get.

I would make it a functional speaker, but like i said the back of that grill is pressing right up against the crank

Would it be possible to grab a door from a p/w interior and swap? Might give a perfect fit.

Nice location

Just an idea......maybe grab a dremel and grind down tha roller teeth of tha window crank.
Or u could paint tha interior door as a face, and leave tha window crank as tha eyeballs? j/k

I like the idea, and I don't know much about sound staging. May I offer some advise?

I think the use of the shiny paint intensifies the protruding pod tweeter. You may want to use a surface treatment less visually abraisive. My suggestion would be PPG DIU paint. It is used by OEMs for concept cars and it a little more than regular paints, but you can shoot it out of a gun or one of those cheap pump guns or can converters.

If you mold the tweeter into the mid woofer and make it look like one piece...it will look a lot better IMO.

Sound stage wise....tweeters down low are not that good. They should be higher....such as where your manual mirror adjusters are.
