Catback 2.5 Magnaflow

Ok, Ive heard the clips online of the guys with custom 2.5 magnaflow. I love it. A shop here gave me a quote of about 300 including the tip I want and everything. My question is to anyone with a 2.5 magnaflow CUSTOM exhaust. Not talking about the expensive one online.

1. Do you like the exhaust? Is there anything you can tell me or reccomend that you would have done differently. I like the quiet sound of it....but I know that videos online can be deceitful. Overall, do you like it and is there anything you can recommend.

2. I want the exhaust to be quiet. Does anyone know anything about the resonators you can buy online from companies like zzp for like 100 bucks. Are they worth it, or do they make it sound ricey??

3. Happy new year, with some help maybe I can get my exhaust soon and have a good one myself!!

ZZP resonators are good.. i putted on my RX-7 when i had my exhaust and damn the difference...

from a vibrant resonator to a zzp on...

ouch :P

RX-7 had more torque around the power band... and sounded less raspy... and gave it a deeper sound which a DC Sport Fart Can

and made fire *****...! haha

pm me for the vid if you wanna see it

I went with the exact sam set-up that you are thinking of. $300 is a fair price. The Magnaflow system has a deep low tone sound to it at idle and under normal running conditions, but is louder than most exhaust systems when you are on it. Here is a video of my car at the track. You can't even here the Mustang.

They should include a resonator with the catback exhaust. I got one from Magnaflow, but a bigger one than expected to help quite it a little bit. I do not know the exact model, but it is the same resonator used on an 04 Corvette Z06 from Magnalfow. Hope that helps.

Thanx a lot for your opinion! I thought that it was pretty quite when I heard it, so maybe I will seriously consider one of those straight through resonators for 100 bucks.... Anotehr subject....how do you like your stage 3 clutch venom? Is it worth it for costing about 1000 bucks (after install). And what brand is it???

Ive had magnaflow on my past 2 vehicles and have had no problems at all. I bought one for my balt and in 6 months the resonator **** the bed. It would be fine as long as there was pressure going thru it ( on the gas driving around or whatnot ) but if i stopped at a light or at the McD drive thru window it would start rattleing. Cut it out and put another 2.5" magnaflow resonator in and im good to go again. Quite when you want, and LOUD at WOT. Not ricey or raspy at all. Love it.

Your stock exhaust is already 2.5".Just get an axle back exaust because the pipe gets alittle smaller right before the axle. With that and a 2.5" downpipe, youll pretty much have a full 2.5" exhaust. And when you get the muffler, get the longest muffler you can fit back there. All the magnaflow mufflers with tips are 14" long i think.Get atleast an 18" muffler,it will cut down on the raspiness.Your gonna have to buy a tip for it because i dont think they make an 18" muffler with a tip.Dont quote me on that though, check there website.Oh,and get an oval muffler,it will help absorb the raspiness more than a round muffler.Plus they look better, lol.I have magnaflow mufflers on my car and i like them.As for a resonator,if you choose to replace the stock one,get a magnaflow 4" round muffler and get the longest one that will fit under the car.
