A Newbie with some questions bout the SS/SC

Alright I've got a SS/SC i put a CAI on and Trans Mounts with a Engine Mount coming in the mail. I wanted to get the mounts before anything else basically because of the fact SS's are hard to launch so i figured they would possilbly lower my time but i got a few questions.
How reliable is the powertrain in the SS's? Can they stand a beating as much as an SRT4?

My next mods may be a header with a high flow cat and downpipe from cobalt-addiction. I heard it gets rid of that studder in RPM's the Cobalts have. But I want to know if they are going to throw an CEL with the rear 02 Sensor. And I heard taht the Header and downpipe are more restrictive than the muffler. (is that true) I don't have enough for a full exhaust yet.

Any answers you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

depends on the driver with the tranny's and clutch...the stock downpipe is really restrickive...and as far as cel chances are you will throw one..and along with the tranny mounts you can do the upper motor mount..

the car is as reliable as you drive it. there are a lot of people that smoke clutches out in a very short time because of driver input. they arent the strongest clutch in the world, but driven right itll last you a while. search for a thread called "how to stop clutch slip by driver input". another issue is breaking transmissions, many people have broken cases from wheelhop. the best thing to do to stop wheelhop is the mounts, that will virtualy eliminate it. the other thing to keep in mind is if it starts to wheelhop, let off the throttle. another weak link is the axles, but unless you are doing hard launches or racing at the dragstrip you should be fine.
