Passenger Side Headlight Removal For Drag?

So today in my failed atempt to change out my burnt out bulbs in my headlights i did find something that could be put to good use in the future, i found that on the passenger side headlight area there is a pipe there that leads to the intake (a intake pipe)..

now for most this would mean anything..but i have a SRI KN Intake..so that intake pipe leads RIGHT into my filter/intake..meaning if i remove my headlight for the drag strip..will i not increase airflow to my intake? thoughts??

yeah but the air id be reciving wouldnt be traveling thro the engine bay to my intake..it would be going straight from headlight bay-intake..

I think that's what he meant, and I agree, lower temps and maybe a tick of noticeable power. It would sure look funny, but it's a race, not a beauty pageant

There's a lot of cars that I see at the track that do this, you should see lower temps and slightly better times.

someone else mentioned this about everyone with the other types of intakes (ss/sc). they noticed that when they took out their driver's side foglight they performed a little better. I might do it if I ever get to the track.

Here in Calgary at Race City we take out the drivers side fog light assembly. Now you have ram air. Its fairley simple to do. Remove the headlight. Then remove the headlight bracket. undo the wireing harness for the fog light. Un bolt the fog light. Put the headlight back in. This procedure is also good for taking a look at your air filter and cleaning the MAF.

Cheers

the only thing i have ever heard about that is that you need working marker lights just so they can tell if somthing went wrong

i run with just my fogs every time that i go and they never said anything yet
