cobalt vs. r32

i raced a vw today and im not sure if it was an r32 or just a gti vr6. it had one pipe out the right side and the r32s are dual exhaust. regualar gti's exhaust are on the right. i didnt get to see if it was dual because he was looking at my taillights after the launch.. if the one pipe was on the left would that mean it had to of been an r32?

I dunno, I have never seen the back end of a VW. But they know what the back of mine looks like.

Nope you raced a normal GTI. An R32 if you went from a roll would mean you would be looking at his tails. VW are meant to be fast. I owned one and we really dont care about speed its about Riding low and looking clean. Its a different community, a vw can pull off any wheel thrown at it, you just need to have an open mind. I will be selling my cobalt soon to get another vw. i really like it here but my heart is with the VDAB!

I like the older style VW Jetta GLI's. Those are nicely built machines right there. A buddy of mine has a black one. And they sound good too.

yeah i pulled on him after the launch. thats why i only caught one side of the exhaust. i passed him easily and pulled to 80mph looked in my rearview he was a car to a car in half behind me. after that traffic hit.

do they make gti's in the same body shape as the r32? this one had the squared look.

yea i think you raced a chipped 1.8t they can run a 1/4 the same as an r32 but the r32 can launch in a 1.8 60ft and lower, and the lowest ive seen on here with a cobalt is 2.0. which the 1.8t can do and maybe a little quicker.

Way off lol. the Anniversary was made in 2003 as a 20th ann. it has a 1.8t, nicer inside then a gti and a valence kit. 5000 of them are in the US. in 2002 the made the 337 whick is the same as the 20th but only on Silver only 1500 are in the US. and in 2004 the R32 was made it has 4-motion, a 3.2 n/a motor and has a really nice inside, nicer bumpers and a dual exhaust that no R32 owner will ever change cause well no other GTi can have a dual.

this one was on the passenger side. which why i think its a r32. r32's are dual. and if the gtis have there exhaust on the drivers side. then it had to be a dual. buuuut if it was a r32 i don tthink the race would of been that easy for me

and im with you. vdubs are amazing cars. if i didnt get a cobalt i think i would of been looking at a r32. i love them but i love cobalts a bit more. i also wish i got a srt4. only for the turbo, i'm in love with bov's

well i mean if you have the mods your sign. says you have not really. the r32 only puts about 210 to the wheels.

i wanna get it straight because i dont wanna say i beat a r32 wen it was a gti. i might just cross it off my kill list and save it for another day. i'm sure i'll see him around again. next time i'll take a look at his badge and WHOLE exhaust.

Look at the seats that will really tell you what it is. and the headliner. lol

Headliner has to be black. and the seats well wont look like normal seats.

it was probally a GTI with an R:. Rear bumper alot of guys are doing that now days.

btw I just want to say you sound like a moron saying you never see the tailight of a volkswagen. if you want I can either get my car out of the garage or have some of my buddies race you with their dubs. a chipped 1.8t with exhaust and coilovers is just as fast as a cobalt with 3" pulley, exhaust and suspension mods. trust me I'm deep into the volkswagen world and had a lot of proving to do when I showed up to a couple meets with my balt. and honestly the cobalt is no where near as fast as my 94 jetta VRT.

just remember if you want to be a good car guy you need to educate your self on all diferent makes and models that way you dont get confused and tell somone you beat a lambo when you really raced a fiero.
