new mod just ordered

I have already bought and installed a performance intake from Chevy on my 2.4 SS sadan and I have just ordered the GMPP Cat-Back Exhaust System Performance from www.crateenginedepot.com. I also ordered the Cobalt Exhaust Tip Straight Cut for the system. I cant wait til it arrives and I get it installed. Does anyone else have this system and if so can you notice a difference in performance and sound from the stock exhaust? If you want to order one the price for it right now is 357.30 bur with that and the tip with shipping it came out to $458.45 which isnt bad. Now that I have the two big things that is probilly the cheapest way to get HP and performance. Is there anything else that I should go with??

Header, dp, and maybe a tune. Local friend with a Ion 4 put down decent numbers with custom HPTuners tune, intake, header, DP, and custom Magnaflow exhaust.

guys one person dyno'd 12 whp with the gm catback like a year and a half ago. everyone just goes by with that # now. i bet between BOTH you're going to gain about 12whp or so over stock.

WHP and BHP are the same, and I think somewhere like 145 WHP/BHP.

they are absolutely NOT the same. bhp is before drivetrain loss and all other losses. whp is the actual power that's getting down to the ground, which has all the loss taken out already.

i think people hear "brake horse power" so assume that the brakes mean at the wheels. seems logical. but, it gets that name from the machine used to test the horsepower, has nothing to do with the actual brakes.

I think they should come out with a performance package like they do with the SS/SC for the 2.4 ss

Not straying off topic, but I heard that a while back ago and I always thought it was after the drivetrain without wheels and **** added to the car? Hmm....well learned something new today. But anyway WHP stock is around 145 or sooo....BHP/HP () 171.

If thats the case then y do they say it has 171 HP stock where does that number come from and if thats the case how much whp does the SS/SC have?

How much does it normally cost to get the exhaust put on and will it be cheaper to get a dealership to put it on??

nothing is cheaper at the dealer unless it's free try it yourself, or see if a local member can help you out. If you were up my way I would help you put it on no problem.

basically there's 2 ways that you judge horsepower. bhp, and whp. whp is WHEEL horse power, which is the actual power that is getting to the ground. your car uses hp to do certain things, like spin your alternator, use the ac, spin a pulley, etc. so when you take out all that power that is doing other things and not getting to the ground, that's whp.

bhp is the amount of power BEFORE all that loss. from a car manufacturers point of view, and for the average person that doesn't know the difference between bhp and whp, what looks more impressive? the higher #. almost nobody that's into cars talks in terms of bhp, because that's irelevant. people talk about whp.

for the ss/sc, it's underrated, most cars put down somewhere between 210-220 whp.

Header, downpipe, ETD or mounts, and some tranny bushings, and you'll be set.
