I need hoodpins, but which ones are high quality?

Since the install of my carbon fiber hood, it doesnt stay down quite perfectly even after taking it to a professional because of how it was made he says i need hood pins to hold it down right.

Well, in the past I've had a bad experience with hood pins, I don't remeber the brand of them but when i had them on my cavalier, the hoodpins rusted away and looked horrible. some of the companies say they are aluminum which wont rust but that doesnt mean the non aluminum parts like the screws wont rust and look horrible.

Does anyone know a hoodpin company that i can trust to give me quality hoodpins?

I would like them to look nice as well, I'm not gonna try to hide them so they better look good for what they are.

I'll toss a poll up to see if any of these copanies are good ones.

Can Sparco be trusted or is there a better company?

also, should I get them in polished or in red to match the car?

I too need hood pins but I am looking at getting a top grade locking set.
A friend of mine has a set on his Mustang and the key is the round type.
I will find out the name or Matty if you see this, what brand are your locks?

I'm thinking about those ones that are like composite material and are flat too.

look at these:

The first one won't work because I need locking, but those dp look nice. I would be a bit concerned about a website that hasn't been updated since '04.
The second ones seem to big and I am not sure how they will interfere with the look of the hood. They would at least need to be painted.
I will still try to get a pic of the ones Matty has on his car.

I'm really thinking of the non metal ones that go down into the hood but i will have to make sure they would work.

Ok, well I chose to go with these aerocatch ones since they dont look the same as all the ricers hoodpins on their stock hoods. Even the sparco's look to overplayed for me and cheap. These are almost $100 but they won't stick out like a sore thumb like the metal ones would.

I am not sure I agree with you.
While I like the design and latching/lock mechanism I can't say I like the look of the black on the red hood (second picture),
You should get them soon so I can see them on your car first.

are they real CF?
The ones I have are polished silver metal. The one in the link are the type that I have. Rod has seen them and how they lock the hood down. I got mine locally so I can't say for sure about the CF ones from that site.

Expect to hear a few "we won't do carbon fiber hoods" before you hear "we will do it but it will cost you $$$$$"
I had asked about doing alterations on a C/F hood and everyone I talked to did not want to do it.
