Need Help

*2006 ss/sc* (60,700+miles)...(43,700 miles on the 2nd engine)

i was out driving tongiht, the car was fine the whole day. while i was driving, the battery warning light went on, so i pulled over turned the car off, i took a couple of mins to look it up in the manual then went about, started the car went on the freeway. 1 minute later it turned back on again, few minutes later, the ABS light went on, i got off the freeway drove down to a local empty street and turned the car off, again this time, 30 seconds later, the car is dead, battery drained out wont start.

luckily i stopped at a lil hill, so i very slowly rolled down, put it on 2nd and started the car trying to go back home thru the local streets slowly because ... (whooo!!!, what a fuked up night!)
the power steering went out, then i get a 'service airbag' warning.

i almost made it home, about 3 miles short of it. the car just completely died, started sputtering so i just had to pull over n call a tow truck.

......for the knowledgeable members on this site, thank you in advance for any advice that ya'll can give. i don't know where to start trouble shooting because of my own inexperience with cars and specifically with this car. i'm looking up whatever i can think of in my service manual, the complete version, somewhat of a worthwhile investment for a $100+ as i hav fixed some minor to medium problems just following the books that would've cost me dearly to fix elsewhere being out of warranty. so if any1 can just lead me to the right direction again thank you.

I would say this sounds like a alternator problem. The alternator is not covered under the powertrain warranty. Go get one online, probably gonna cost you $100 and put it in yourself. The hardest part about changing it is just getting the belt off - changing the alternator itself shouldn't take more then a couple of minutes.

Alternator is my guess.

Either that or you have some bad wiring somewhere

pull the alternator off and take it to a parts store that does alternator testing. they will determine if the alternator is good or not. if its toast, replace it, if not, then you have wiring issues
