Unhappy Help me out folks...

I have a 2007 cobalt ls, yesterday i changed the springs to lower it, it all went well, but today i looked and i have gear grease all over the inside of my fender well, now my question is, i know its not good to drive on it for long but how long can i drive with the cvboot leaking like that? apparently when i took the strut out i tore the boot, simple mistake is costing me $60.... just kinda sucks... but its my fault for a careless mistake.
