cigarette lighter removel

does any body know how to get the thing that the cigarette lighter goes into out of the center console piece. I want to take it out so i can run my i pod wire through it. It looks like you just push the plastic tabs in and push it out.

Have you ripped the center console out? It pulls up and off easily, I would suggest drilling a small hole near the cigarette adapter vs. squeezing a wire along side it. It's really simple to do, pull the e-brake up and lift the plastic part of the console up and out. Then when you run the wire into the hole, you can pull up the next plastic piece with the cupholders, and run your wire up under your dash to the headunit.

I got the plastic piece that has the cupholders/shifter out, but my question was how to get the things you put a lighter in out of the plastic thing. but i ended squeezing the ipod plug thru the power supply thing because on the back there is a square hole i guess so whatever you plug into it can lock in, or vent the heat of a lighter. but if anybody knows how to get it to come out id still like to know.

Ahh...go to your local perts store and buy the tool. It will cost less than a couple of bucks. With the tool it pops out in a snap
