08 SS/TC <-> 05-07 SS/SC Interior Compatibility

Hey everyone, I was just talking interior over with a friend of mine. i showed him these pictures:

He evidently likes these new seats a lot more and finds them more "sportier" and supposedly more supportive than my stock leather seats. And that seems to be what people say here.

Now I was thinking I might do a interior swap (door panels, and seats) for the SS/TC seats in light gray. I'm pretty sure these seats will come with the heated seat options and the airbag sensors, correct? Will i run into any problems if I do decide to do this?

Well if your car does not have those equipment options then all you have to do is tie down the connectors and not hook them up, and you should be fine. other then that i'm pretty sure all the interior parts are interchangeable from model to model.

i sat in the hhr ss at the car show a few weeks ago, i really liked the seats a lot. a LOT more comfortable than the leather ss/sc seats. just felt better. i may look into swapping out my seats for those if i find i like them more later on. plus i like the way they look too. at least the red ones. not digging the white ones too much...

Yes, you should be able to swap them, the interior is exactly the same size wise, and i doubt they would change bolt patterns/size/placement mid-model

Sweet I just might do this then. door panels, front, and rear seats in the light gray, should match my car pretty well.

it would probably cheaper for you to take your car to a quality apholstry shop and get them to make them for you. seats and door panels. it going to cost an absurd amount to change it all over.and for what....whitesh grey seats that are going to get filthy constantly? personally its not worth it. look into your options an apholstry shop should only charge you about $100 per seat to redo the fabric of your choice.they will even build up the matereial for you to make them more comfy and firmer or whatever you want .look into it before ordering everything off a brand new model car ! good luck

The seats are more comfortable and seem to hold you better then the leather ones do

That's very true. I still do need an upholestry shop to find and do this though. But yeah I should probably look into that first. Its just these seats LOOK better and sportier than the leather ss/sc seats, and everyone says they wrap around you 10 times better. I have many, close friends who work at dealerships, I should be able to get a discount somewhere, and labor shouldn't be that much at all.

the only difference is the fabric, and you get a little GM tag on the side haha, just invest in some RECARO's...

Lies. I also can't get recaros. I have an 07, i have an airbag sensor in my seats, so I won't be able to ever get Recaros. Which is why I am looking into these.

the airbag sensor can be transfered to any seat with a bit of effort

Yeah trust me I know! I wanted Recaros for a long ass time, but then i was informed that the 07's have airbag sensors in the right seat, and you basiclaly can't do **** about it as taking the seats apart and putting the sensor in would require too much work and all that....so unfair.

More money than it would be to just buy these new seats. Also reign, I have the red interior, and I want the light gray seats, so yeah, I'd HAVE to get the full set. Otherwise It would look tacky. :P

just take the back seats out! haha

and just bypass the airbag sensor making it think someone is in the seat at all times...

Someone tried that said it keeps the seatbelt light on if you don't have the seat belt on the passenger seat at all times as well.

Sounds easy doesn't it?

(cut up both seats, try to mount the sensors,a nd spend a lot of money in the process.)
