2.4 exhaust

I was under the assumption that 2.4s have 2.5 inch exhaust stock, w/the exception of that spot thats 2.25. Im confused on how u get gains by switching to catbacks if theyre the same size? and isnt the pacesetter one smaller than the stock exhaust setup? someone enlighten me on this

you want the truth?

you'll gain a little but going to the higher flow muffler and resonator, but in reality, on a 2.4, the header and DP is a FAR better place to spend cash.

that sounds good cuz thats really all i wanna do... so if i change that small section to 2.5, get a magnaflow muffler like i want and just get intake and header+dp i should be good to go? but if i do get the full catback itll gain more than my initial plan?

As i understand it the full catback would be exactly the same except with a resonator. I plan to follow your same plan EXACTLY. Just take it to a muffler shop and they should chop off your stock muffler, replace the 2.25 section and throw on the new muffler and you saved 400 bucks on getting the whole catback

ohh also i read it somewhere that the DP is more important than header to mod for our cars? (something to do wtih the restrictive cats that we have)

well, for one an aftermarket setup will be 2.5" all the way through. Plus, aftermarket setups will have much more straight through smoother piping and less bends, resulting in more power. And of course, a nice looking/sounding muffler to ice the cake.

some are slightly smaller and some are slightly bigger, and not all are the same size all the way through. (from what i read on here)

but it does sound like a d/p and header would be a primary mod over cat back for us.
