All Western PA drivers

I just got an email about how the state is going to be raising money by increasing speeding tickets... To do this they have doubled state troopers with extreme overtime. They are targeting 279, 376, 79, 70, 22, 60 and a few others. They have also doubled the fines for not having either your license, registration card, or insurance card. WDVE has mentioned something about this as well so it is fairly ligit. Just thought I would let yinz all know, if you are not already notified!

yeah she said that they got a bunch of new chargers but they're being used by detectives and special training troopers, and they wouldnt make the 6 or 9 million that it claims and that all fines go back to the state and not the state police...i forget her name but she was on the X the other morning

Yeah, it's false. I got the same thing last week and called up a state trooper buddy of mine and he said absolutely not.

Hey, a head's up is never a bad thing. I almost posted it when I got the e-mail too, but I gave Mike a call and figured he'd tell me what's up.

There ARE a ****-load more cops on the road lately, though. They have definitely increased their patrols in the last few months... I drive Route 30 between Greensburg and Irwin a lot and have noticed an increase on that stretch. Just a heads-up for anyone who regularly travels that part of 30...

There's almost always more cops out in the winter. I noticed this when I started going to school at IUP....once the holidays wear off they start coming out of the wood work about mid-January and stay pretty heavy until late May or so.
